SCOPE OF POSITION

The Manager of ERP is responsible for managing and integrating allERP-related activities into business operations. This includessystems analysis, programming, configuration, troubleshooting, usertraining, upgrades, and patches. The role also involves managingboth in-house resources and contractors who work on the ERPsystem.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Improvement & Automation :

Workclosely with the Head Office and various sites to analyze existingbusiness processes and identify opportunities to implementtechnology solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, orautomate manual processes.

Data Security & Risk Management :

Ensure the security and integrityof business systems by proactively addressing potential risks suchas data loss, security breaches, and system downtimes. Implementstrategies to safeguard company data and maintain operationalcontinuity.

Technology Evaluation :

Investigate, evaluate, and recommend theadoption of new technologies, including hardware, software, andcommunication tools, to meet business needs and improve overallefficiency.

System Maintenance & Troubleshooting :

Lead efforts to ensurebusiness systems are continually operational, performing routinechecks, troubleshooting issues, and resolving incidentspromptly.

Collaboration & Communication :

Collaborate with cross-functionalteams to ensure that IT systems align with business needs,providing technical guidance, support, and solutions to enhanceoverall productivity.

System Procurement & Installation :

Oversee the procurement,installation, and configuration of software, applications, andservices related to Hood business systems. Develop expertise inemerging technologies and ensure alignment with the company’sstrategic objectives.

System Upgrades & Enhancements :

Oversee the planning andimplementation of system upgrades and enhancements, ensuringminimal disruption to operations.

Compliance & Governance :

Ensure that the company’s informationsystems comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and internalgovernance standards.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting :

Implement systems formonitoring the performance of IT systems and services. Provideregular reports to senior management on system performance,security incidents, and key IT metrics.

MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management & Development :

Manageand supervise the IS team, including Senior Business System Managerand Senior Programmer Analysts and contractors. Conduct annualperformance reviews, provide coaching, and develop training andprofessional development plans. Play an active role in hiring,firing, and making decisions about compensation and promotions.

Cross-Department Coordination :

Work closely with other departmentsto align business systems strategies with the company’s overarchinggoals. Ensure effective communication between IT and other businessunits.

Budgeting & Resource Allocation :

Develop and manage the budget forthe IS department. Ensure effective allocation of resources andimplement cost-saving measures where applicable.

Vendor Management :

Oversee relationships with third-party vendorsand service providers. Ensure that contracts, SLAs, and performanceexpectations are being met, and manage any issues that arise.

IT Audit:

Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensuresystems and processes meet compliance requirements. Ensure thataudit findings are addressed, and remediation plans areimplemented.

Policy & Procedure Development :

Lead the development andimplementation of IT policies and procedures to ensure consistency,security, and efficiency in all business systems operations. Coordinate all functions of business systems to ensure alignmentwith Company goals.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Director –

IT :

Regular contact to reporton key initiatives, receive guidance on strategic direction, andcoordinate resources.

Head Office Staff :

Regular communication to ensure alignmentbetween business systems and operational needs. Employees at

All Sites :

Regular interaction to provide technicalsupport, resolve system issues, and implement IT solutions acrossdifferent locations.

Business Systems Contractors/Suppliers :

Work with external vendorsand contractors to procure services and ensure the smooth deliveryof IT solutions. Customers (Occasionally) : May engage with customers ontechnology-related matters, such as service delivery orsystem-related inquiries.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Technical Proficiency :

Regular use ofcomputers, telephones, and various office equipment.

Ability to organize, prioritize, andexecute complex tasks while meeting deadlines and maintainingattention to detail.

Autonomy & Initiative :

Ability to work independently and initiatenew processes or improvements without requiring constantsupervision.

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

4-year degree in ComputerScience and 10+ years of experience in computer technology,including supervision/management, or a 2-year degree/diploma with20+ years of related experience. Manufacturing business processes and workflows is an asset. Flexible packaging experience is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS

In-depth knowledge of computer hardware,software and applications. In-depth computer communications knowledge. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
