The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT leadership, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role; experience within an educational setting is highly preferred.

Executive DirectorRequirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems required, OR equivalent combination of education and significant experience in IT or Management Information Systems, preferably in an educational setting.

Significant experience managing IT in an educational environment (K-12 preferred).Proven experience with network administration, server management, cybersecurity, and data management.

Required in-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS) and core platforms (Windows Server/Active Directory, Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365, GoGuardian Classroom Device Management).Good working knowledge of Internet Security and Data Privacy laws and principles, particularly as they relate to online safety and appropriate use in an educational context.

Familiarity with MDM software configuration and maintenanceFamiliarity with School Information Systems, Veracross a plusStrong understanding of data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

Familiarity with Pearson MCAS and SAT software configuration a plusFamiliarity with server virtualization technologies Working knowledge of VOIP and traditional phone systems.

ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Planning:

Lead the periodic review, assessment, and iterative refinement of the existing IT strategic plan, proactively identifying opportunities to leverage technology for enhanced teaching, learning, and administrative efficiency in line with the school’s evolving needs and vision.

Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, hardware, and software solutions that enhance teaching, learning, and streamline administrative functions.

Stay current with emerging educational technology trends, cybersecurity best practices, and relevant regulations.

Develop and manage the annual IT budget, strategically allocating resources and overseeing the acquisition, maintenance, and inventory of IT materials and equipment to ensure cost-effective investments and operational efficiency.

Support & Training:

Lead and manage the IT support team, fostering a culture of excellent customer service and problem-solving.

Deliver and oversee comprehensive technical support for all hardware, software, and network issues affecting staff and students, including hands-on troubleshooting and guidance of the IT support team.

Collaborate with faculty and academic leaders to identify and support instructional technology needs, providing training and professional development opportunities.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, procedures, and user guides.

Compliance & Security:

Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations regarding technology use, data privacy, and online safety (e.g., FERPA, COPPA, CIP)Develop and enforce technology acceptable use policies for students and staff.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Develop, implement, and periodically test comprehensive data backup and disaster recovery strategies.

Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate effectively with the Executive Director, administrative team, other operational leadership, and staff to understand their technology needs and provide appropriate solutions.

Foster strong relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and managing service level agreements.

Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of network protocols, cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft 365), and operating systems (Windows, macOS, ChromeOS).Experience with student information systems (SIS) and learning management systems (LMS), and (EHR) health record management systems is highly desirable.

Familiarity with educational software and hardware (e.g., interactive whiteboards, projectors, student devices).

General ExpectationsParticipate in a few night meetings if needed.

Demonstrate a willingness, to the extent possible, to support the schools network/IT needs during non-school hours if necessary, in order to best ensure the successful operation during school hours.
