Master’s degree 8 years CISM Bachelor’s degree IT Senior level Master of Business Administration Leadership Communication skills Information Technology Full Job Description Mississippi Sports Medicine is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and execution-driven Director of Information Technology to lead all aspects of IT operations and strategy across our organization. This leader will ensure technology platforms are stable, secure, scalable, and support our mission of delivering best-in-class orthopedic care. The Director will report locally to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mississippi Sports Medicine, with a shared reporting line to the Senior Vice President of Information Technology at United States Orthopaedic Partners (USOP)—the Management Services Organization (MSO) serving Mississippi Sports Medicine and its affiliate practices. Key Responsibilities Serve as Security Officer and Privacy Officer for the organization, coordinating closely with the USOP Security and Privacy Officer to align on policies, risk assessments, incident response protocols, and HIPAA compliance requirements. Lead the daily operations of IT infrastructure, networking, server management, cloud platforms, cyber security, and clinical/business application support. Drive strategic IT planning, lifecycle management, and budget oversight, ensuring cost-effective, scalable investments in hardware, software, and services. Partner with the USOP IT team and external Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to execute major initiatives, resolve infrastructure or security challenges, and fulfill performance and uptime SLAs. Foster strong, service-oriented relationships with clinical, administrative, and executive leadership, translating technology strategy into actionable solutions. Develop, implement, and enforce IT and security policies aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Evaluate technology upgrades, process enhancements, and new vendor platforms that drive innovation, efficiency, and positive user experience. Cultivate a highly capable and mission-driven internal IT team; define objectives and mentor staff for performance and growth. Coordinate training, onboarding, and effective change management during new technology rollouts. Serve as a point of escalation and guidance for technology-related concerns, service quality, and end-user support. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline; MBA or other advanced degree preferred. IT certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, or similar are strongly preferred. 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 3 years in executive-level reporting and decision-making roles. Experience supporting healthcare environments, HIPAA compliance, and EHR systems. Demonstrated success in managing hybrid internal/outsourced technology teams, including vendor management and MSP oversight. Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational change skills.
