Job Description:
The Director of Program Design will partner with the global commercial sales team, broader commercial organization and site technical/operations teams in support of acquiring new business for Fujifilm Diosynth’s large scale cell culture sites. They will lead technical discussions with potential clients projecting Fujifilm experience and expertise in this offering. They will develop and author customer-tailored proposals and assist throughout the sales process The job holder will ideally be based in proximity to FDB’s large scale cell culture sites in RTP, NC or Hillerod, Denmark. Regular out of hours calls may be required and travel to other FDB sites 5-6x a year is necessary. This position has 1-3 direct reports.
Principal Accountabilities:
The job holder will be responsible for providing support to the acquisition of new customers: Responsible for leading the technical aspects of customer meetings and teleconferences Accountable for the review of RFPs and the design of customer programs, from Technology Transfer to cGMP manufacture and Process Validation. Perform assessment of customer programs to guide fit with Fujifilm capabilities and site requirements. Partner with site process sciences, engineering, and Quality teams in assessing customer programs. Prepare proposals in response to RFPs Define program scope, siting/location, timelines, and resources As needed, support the overall sales process, including SoW development, Stage Gates, Win Rooms, and customer meetings and requests Direct and lead relevant aspects of the Program Design team’s improvement efforts and initiatives, including efforts to promote and maintain harmonization of work practices across sites Leading role in Program Design’s engagement with internal stakeholders and manufacturing teams to promote open communications and improvements of Fujifilm’s service offerings Attend webinars and conferences in support of FDB commercial teams, as well as keep up to date with current industry advancements Manage 1-3 direct reports supporting the LSCC business
Education, Skills & Experience Requirements:
A scientific degree, preferably a graduate degree (e.g. MSc, PhD), in a relevant biological science field – Essential 10+ years of technical experience at Fujifilm, other CDMO, or other applicable role, including experience working directly with customers – Essential Broad understanding of Fujifilm Diosynth’s or relevant CDMO business, with special focus on large scale cell culture manufacturing Understanding of regulatory environment, process development, and analytical technologies related to the manufacture of biopharmaceutical drugs Understanding of and experience with cGMP manufacturing and associated requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with external customers in a professional and personable manner and to present a competent image of Fujifilm at all times Ability to analyze complex technical problems and present clear solutions Ability to influence customers and colleagues at all levels Prior experience within Fujifilm Diosynth a plus but not required.
