Description Position Overview:
A growing organization is seeking an IT Director with broad IT expertise to oversee and manage its technology infrastructure. This role is designed for a proactive, hands-on IT generalist with experience supporting small to mid-sized businesses, particularly in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to handle diverse responsibilities, including hardware, software, networks, and IT security, while implementing technology-driven solutions that drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with external IT service providers to manage and monitor servers, networks, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery processes. Oversee the management and lifecycle of hardware, ensuring optimized sourcing, deployment, and upgrades. Collaborate with external developers as needed to maintain and enhance business applications. Work closely with internal stakeholders to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency through technology solutions. Coordinate and lead IT-related initiatives and strategic projects to support business goals. Manage relationships with external vendors, including telecom and cabling services. Conduct cybersecurity initiatives, such as penetration testing and risk mitigation strategies. Oversee the end-user support function and provide direct backup assistance when necessary. Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies and standards, such as BYOD and data protection protocols. Maintain IT asset inventory and software license tracking. Maintain updated documentation of IT contracts, network topology, and infrastructure architecture. Develop and manage the annual IT budget and related capital investment plans. Supervise one desktop support staff member and oversee the broader IT function.
Requirements Qualifications & Competencies:
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. + Proven experience in IT management within a manufacturing environment is required. + Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and connectivity. + Hands-on experience managing IT vendors and sourcing cost-effective technology solutions. + Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and system implementations. + Strong grasp of IT risks, mitigation strategies, and cybersecurity measures. + Proficiency in IT operations, including budgeting, documentation, and asset management. + Excellent collaboration, communication, and leadership skills. + Organized, adaptable, and results-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
