POSITION SUMMARY
The IT Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of IT systems, network infrastructure, servers and endpoints, and software within our food manufacturing facilities, ensuring technology infrastructure runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently to support production, supply chain, and enterprise business systems. The role is critical in minimizing downtime, improving system performance, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, etc.), and supporting digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
+ Lead and develop the team to succeed in their assigned roles, by effectively communicating priorities, holding team members accountable for results and creating individual development plans and succession plan roadmap. + Contribute to IT strategy aligned with business goals to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. + Educate and train employees on IT best practices, current policies and required processes for support + Build strong relationships with organizations we provide support services + Manage the Helpdesk Administrators Team to ensure requests are assigned and completed timely and efficiently, meeting SLA standards to drive superior customer service + Oversee cybersecurity to ensure compliance; systems adhere to cybersecurity best practices and policies (ex.
NIST, ISO
27001, etc.) + Execute and validate Corporate Backup Strategy through effective backup system administration + Manage Virtual Infrastructure + Manage system capacity and performance, verify application logs and monitor equipment; + Coordinate maintenance, replacement, and repair of servers, networking, and storage; + Administer Office365 systems as necessary; + Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date systems documentation + Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations + Provide telephone support related to networking or connectivity issues + Participate in department support rotation as required + Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including preparing and conducting employee performance appraisals + Maintain employee work schedules, including timecard approval, work assignments, job rotation, training, vacations, and paid time off + Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
+ Minimum of Associate’s degree with 3-5 years of related IT experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred + 5 years of management experience + Strong background with infrastructure support + Excellent problem-solving skills with an exceptional Customer Service Focus + Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize workload with respect to importance and deadlines, communicate clearly and manage stakeholder expectations
WORKING CONDITIONS
+ Regularly required to sit, use hands + Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds + Sedentary office environment + Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.); + Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant)
