What the role entails:

TKD is seeking an Information Technology Manager who, under the direction of the Associate Director of IT, will be responsible for managing the law firm’s IT infrastructure, ensuring that advanced technologies are effectively integrated into the firm’s operations to support legal services, client needs, and business objectives. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic thinking to ensure that the firm’s IT systems are secure, efficient, and aligned with the legal industry’s regulatory and operational needs. The IT Manager must possess initiative and drive, have broad relevant technical knowledge with excellent management and project management capabilities, along with strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will model a hands-on approach to management of IT Support Specialists and will collaborate closely with colleagues and vendors. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to: IT Infrastructure Management Responsible for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the law firm’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, licensing, cloud services, workstations, laptops and mobile devices. Ensure seamless connectivity and secure access to data for all users, both in the office and remotely (via VPN, secure cloud services, etc.). Manage the implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of hardware and cloud software systems that support the Firm’s business operations such as legal document management, email communication, ISP, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 administration, Copitrak, etc. Support Associate IT Director on IT related projects such as facility expansion, construction and renovation projects. Technology Strategy & General Management Research and make recommendations to Associate Director of IT of new legal technologies and software solutions to improve productivity and efficiency in collaboration. Manage e-discovery and litigation hold requests. Assist in testing disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure effective responses times. Coordinate communications and support response during critical risk, slowdown, and outage scenarios. Ability to work effectively with co-workers in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to work after hours and off hours as needed. Stay up-to-date with legal technology regulations and compliance requirements specific to the law firm industry. Help Desk & Technical Support Be the escalation point for Help Desk Team and outside contractors to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues, including troubleshooting hardware/software issues, system errors, and network outages. Oversee team schedule for after hour and on-call support. Ensure a high level of customer service for end users, with quick resolutions to common problems and preventive support to minimize downtime. Vendor and Asset Management Ensure that software licensing, updates, and renewal deadlines are managed efficiently to avoid disruptions in service. Manage asset acquisition, inventory and disposition of hardware and software procurements including replacement cycle of systems. Cybersecurity & Data Protection Maintain and uphold approved data security protocols to protect sensitive client information, legal files, and firm data against cyber threats, breaches, and ransomware attacks. Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations utilizing advanced technology and implementation of policies, procedures, and technical controls that adhere to relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards including reviewing and responding to monthly data security reports, user cybersecurity training completion stats, etc. Participate in regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, and lead incident response efforts in case of breaches and remediation of findings. Staff Training & Development Provide ongoing training to help desk team on how to effectively use legal software tools, cybersecurity best practices, and other technological resources so they can provide direct user support. Help lawyers and staff stay informed about new technologies and innovations in the legal field, fostering a culture of technological literacy. Collaborate with Associate IT Director on ways to support career growth objectives for IT team.

Qualifications and skills:

Bachelor’s degree preferred 5-7 years of supervisory/manager experience with substantive hands-on involvement is required. Law Firm experience strongly preferred. Project Management (CAPM, PMP) and Technical Certifications (MCITP, VCP) are a plus. Extensive application support and technical knowledge of network, telecommunications, and Server.

PC operating systems including:

Microsoft desktop and server products, including Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10) and higher, Windows Server 2016 and higher, and Microsoft 365 MS Outlook E-mail software operating in Microsoft 365 cloud environment on client endpoints (PC/MAC/Mobile) Messaging security services such as Mimecast and Egress a plus PC imaging solutions and software deployment tools (InTune and others) Extensive knowledge of premise and cloud networking concepts and management tools to ensure uptime and systems access such as Auvik, firewall NMS and manufacturer tools iManage Cloud Document Management administration Working knowledge of Litera Desktop (Compare, Check and DocX Tools), Adobe Acrobat Professional/Kofax Power PDF and DocuSign digital signature solution Data Backup management with Veeam Working knowledge of VOIP and video conferencing platforms such as 8×8, Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, and other platforms. Hosted eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity and Logikcull, litigation support review systems and e-discovery processing and productions Working Knowledge of VMWare virtualized environments, Storage area networks (SAN) and associated networking requirements Working knowledge of Mobile Devices, iPhones, Android devices, HP printers, and Mobile Device Management (MDM), Canon & Xerox Copier devices Network administration tasks related to Active Directory account management and Enterprise cloud integrations Expertise working with Help Desk ticketing solutions (such as FreshDesk) to manage metrics and IT departmental response expectations. Compensation & benefits: The good faith base annual salary range for this position is a minimum $150,000 to a maximum of $175,000.
