Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead a team responsible for the development and support of Policy and Underwriting systems. This role will oversee the enhancement of existing applications and the strategic transition to a new Guidewire platform in the cloud. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders to modernize technology, introduce digital capabilities, and improve application functionality in alignment with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of developers and support staff through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Oversee the transition to Guidewire’s Insurance Suite in the Cloud, including skill transformation and technology migration.
Collaborate with business leaders to align IT initiatives with strategic goals and develop multi-year IT plans.
Serve as IT Product Owner for applications within the team’s portfolio.
Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation and service evaluation.
Ensure production system service levels are met and systems remain current with technology standards.
Participate in budgeting, capital project planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
Conduct performance reviews, set team goals, and manage team development.
Review and approve vendor invoices and project documentation.
Promote adherence to the company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Required Qualifications
Minimum 10 years of IT and business experience, including leadership roles on enterprise initiatives.
At least 3 years of direct IT supervisory experience, including staff development and performance management.
Minimum 3 years of experience with Guidewire Policy Center (preferably cloud-based).
Experience in the Commercial Insurance industry is required.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies; knowledge of SAFe Agile is a plus.
Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance as it relates to IT.
Proficiency in Jira and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Guidewire certifications.
Experience developing and managing IT budgets.
Exposure to enterprise architecture and strategic IT planning. Certifications
Guidewire certifications preferred.
