Participates as core member of the Information Technology (IT) membership leadership team representing Incident Command and the Enterprise Command Center. Provides guidance, perspective and leadership to team to meet strategic and organizational needs. Conveys that strategy to staff and ensures it is fulfilled. Administratively responsible for assigned staff members.
Job Duties:
Provides command and control direction during IT Major Incidents Acts as liaison between IT Incident Command and Organizational Emergency Management Develops strong working relationships throughout the organization Provides guidance and direction relative to the development and maintenance of technology business continuity planning Develops and implements vision relative to the monitoring of the health and welfare of technology across the organization Provides consistent and appropriate Information Technology leadership for the assigned areas of the Geisinger enterprise. Ensures Information Technology support for assigned areas of the organization is met. Ensures that staff maintains an understanding of the business policies and practices employed in the areas of responsibility. Works with department, product line, or system leadership to develop and implement Information Technology strategy. Conveys IT strategy to managers and staff and ensures that plans are implemented in accordance with organizational need. Responsible for oversight of vendor management which includes but is not limited to, contract negotiations, invoice reconciliation, issue escalation, and product strategies. Responsible for development and administration of IT budget for responsible area. Practices fiscally sound budget management to ensure spending is held to allocated funds. Responsible for oversight of staff recruitment, development, retention, and disciplinary process. Mentors staff in best practices for providing IT support and project management. Ensures development and fosters a team approach to staff organization and interaction. Oversees the formulation staff development plan to ensure members maintain highest level of technical, interpersonal and project management skills possible. Oversees that employee’s performance evaluation is completed in accordance with organizational guidelines. Ensures departmental and organizational policy changes are conveyed, understood and practiced by the staff. Provide high level status reports as requested by leadership. Directs IT departmental initiatives and ensures full cooperation of staff with other IT teams. Maintains a high-level understanding of Information Technology in general and more in-depth knowledge of those facets particular to primary area of responsibility. Keeps up to date on emerging new technology how it may be utilized to further the mission and goals of the organization. Develops long and short-range plans for assigned areas, including plans for facilities, services, hardware, software and staffing. Coordinate plans within and outside the department. Establish and monitor operational KPIs, including productivity standards. Performs any other assigned duties necessitated by business, regulatory, or emergency situations. Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
