IT Operations Supervisor 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Richland County, SC Job Responsibilities Assists the IT Director in all operational functions of the IT Division to include managing the daily responsibilities to ensure efficient and effective operations and compliance with all reporting, legal, regulatory, audit and security requirements. Supervises the agency helpdesk staff and function. Proactively analyzes division needs and resources that are required and makes recommendations to the IT Director. Participates in projects and initiatives to advance the operational effectiveness of the State Treasurer’s Office (STO) in cost savings, performance and customer satisfaction. Researches, tests and recommends technology based on best practices and how the agency uses technology. Manages resource requirements to balance user demands. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key IT product and services providers to ensure performance and service level requirements are met. Provides technical support for STO business applications by analyzing, identifying, diagnosing and resolving issues. Lead assigned IT operational and administrative functions to ensure efficient and effective operations of the office and compliance with all policies, security, and audit functions. Knowledge of computer systems analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance techniques. Ability to work effectively with users, vendors and staff members. Works collaboratively with all team members and is an active, contributing member of the team. Continuously develops and maintains a productive working relationship within the Division, the STO, business partners and customers served. Fully commits in all training requirements and strives to meet the goals and objectives of these assignments. Continuously reviews and updates work procedures (Desk Procedures, User’s Guides, etc.) so that these documents will be maintained in an accurate and usable manner to promote quality outputs. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and a minimum of 5+ years of information technology experience. At least two years of supervisory experience in an IT environment. Additional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Additional Comments Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to understand and carry out complex written and oral instructions. Ability to analyze and reduce to logic al order complex technical data. May be called upon to implement systems under strict deadlines. Occasional on-call duty may be required. Must be able to safely lift and carry equipment, files, books and reports weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for intermittent periods of time. Must be able to reach, bend, and twist at the waist to perform filing, desk work and operate general office equipment.
