If you would like to make an impact daily, we can’t wait to speak with you! SUMMARY Administers, managers, and supports the computers and systems for the organization. Performs or oversees the work of technical vendors in managing network devices and servers. Manages all communications systems including telephone systems, company cell phones, pagers, internal and external email, voice mail, and others where applicable. Responsible for the implementation and support of the strategic plan as it relates to all technical systems and software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Surveys performance needs and goals of end users. Interfaces with users, consultants, technical support, and vendors for maximum guidance in determining the most appropriate type of hardware for the application. Designs, specifies, and documents network configurations according to user needs, utilizing outside support resources as appropriate. Oversees the customization of network equipment, and images for workstations to facilitate the transfer of data between servers, hosted applications, or other tools used for data entry and collection. Educates and trains managers and others on network operations and proper use. Prepares checklists and processes for network help. Analyzes workload, including traffic and utilization trends. Organizes and/or instructs software training programs. Develops and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard systems from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized usage, and damage to data from both internal and external sources. Manages telephone, voice mail and email systems and nurse call system at the Nashville Residence and the Murfreesboro Residence. Orders cell phones and pagers from suppliers; arranges for repairs as needed; keeps records up to date regarding serial numbers and phone numbers assigned to employees. Responsible for all aspects of computer hardware and software programs. Supervises systems administrator and is responsible to ensure that backups and startup procedures are in place. Maintains fax/copiers; arranges for repairs and orders supplies as needed. Responsible for the production and maintenance of all new and current employee fobs and building security system access. Serves as the Agency’s Security Officer. Maintains and develops knowledge of evolving hospice and palliative care philosophy and practices. Collaborates with the COO/CNO and CFO to continually improve the quality and cost effectiveness of care. Ensure compliance with all business regulations for departments for whom direct supervision responsibilities are granted to Complete annual training in a timely manner, no later than companywide deadlines. Provide input and/or direction to Human Resources policies and procedures and the performance appraisal and incentive programs to ensure that improper conduct is discouraged and that support of and conformity with the Compliance Program is part of any performance evaluation process for all employees. Monitors clinical staff compliance with appropriate orientation, staff development, in service education and other educational plans. Recruits, selects, orients, mentors, and disciplines staff based on agency policy, practice guidelines, and staffing. Develops protocols and algorithms for process management in conjunction with other directors as needed Other duties may also be assigned.
Requirements:
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in computer science, MIS or equivalent, or equivalent experience working in the IT field (management experience preferred). Five or more years working in the technology field with familiarity and experience with network and communication systems including desktop PC and server support (including both hosted and cloud systems). Previous hospice/healthcare information technology experience preferred.
