This Role Is Eligible To Be Hybrid And Requires Onsite Reporting Located Within Durham, NC This Position Is Funded In Part Through Federal Funds. The NC FAST Audit Lead position supports the Division of Information Technology Services within the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This position coordinates and oversees all audit-related and quality assurance (QA) workstreams across NC FAST, a major statewide IT initiative. It is responsible for implementing best practices in audit management, coordinating responses to audit findings, developing performance metrics, and ensuring audit compliance with federal and state expectations. The position contributes to project quality and regulatory assurance across NC FAST operations, involving collaboration with federal partners, auditors, internal stakeholders, and leadership. It plays a key role in supporting the agency’s ability to meet audit obligations, track deliverables, and maintain consistent reporting standards.
Key Duties Include:
Lead, track, and report audit findings and QA deliverables across NC FAST programs. Act as liaison to state and federal auditors, ensuring findings are addressed and resolved. Develop and implement QA and audit procedures aligned with state and federal standards. Evaluate and improve audit readiness processes and coordinate mitigation plans. Monitor audit-related performance metrics and create associated dashboards and reports. Supervise technical staff including IT analysts and business systems analysts. Collaborate with NC FAST executive sponsors, DHHS Divisions, IV&V vendors, and federal partners. Support development and visualization of data analytics for project and program reporting. Direct and assign audit and QA work components to ensure timely resolution. Facilitate regular reviews of QA practices and outcomes across multiple NC FAST initiatives.
