The IT Project Manager I is responsible for managing assigned projects within the Information Technology department. This role ensures the successful execution of projects by overseeing scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and industry standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Execution:
Assist in defining project scope and objectives with input from internal stakeholders.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans to track progress and ensure timely completion.
Monitor project execution, identifying and addressing any risks or roadblocks proactively.
Manage project budgets and financials, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to constraints.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration:
Engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with business goals.
Foster a collaborative team environment to drive efficiency and successful project outcomes.
Communicate project status, issues, and risks to relevant parties in a timely manner.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
Support change management initiatives to facilitate smooth project transitions.
Conduct testing cycles and ensure systems integration meets business needs.
Additional Responsibilities:
Understand and comply with the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners employee handbook and other established policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The role also requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and may involve attending evening and weekend meetings as required. QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should possess a solid foundational background that demonstrates their ability to engage with the responsibilities of the role effectively. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred. Three years of relevant experience in managing IT projects, including project planning, execution, and monitoring within a technology-driven environment.
Equivalent training, certifications, or experience may be considered in place of formal education.
Formalized training in project management preferred, such as an advanced degree in Project Management, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Valid Florida Driver’s License and must maintain a good driving record.
Proficient project management skills with the ability to manage vendors and translate functional business processes into technology solutions.
Strong ability to conduct business mapping processes, gather requirements, and implement change management strategies.
Capable of conducting testing cycles and configuring systems while ensuring integration strategies align with business needs.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Effective prioritization of tasks, adherence to deadlines, and leadership of teams from project initiation to completion.
Strong organizational skills with proficiency in utilizing project management software tools.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
Must be available during emergencies and natural disasters on short notice.
This position may require evening and weekend work, sometimes with little advanced notice. Additional Information Pay Grade G205 Driving Position – Operating County vehicles and/or equipment is a primary function of this position.
