Description Reporting to the Dean of Workforce Education, the primary role of this full-time instructional position is to provide college-level instruction and instruction-related activities designed to encourage, support, and enable students’ success. We are seeking a faculty member who will be an effective instructor willing to explore creative strategies and workflows to help students master critical content in digital media. The chosen candidate must be committed to course planning, instructional preparation, personal learning, and most importantly, student success. Candidates for this role will have strong academic credentials, excellent instructional skills, and documented expertise in all areas of video production, visual storytelling, and social media. Candidates must be able to use industry-standard media tools to demonstrate mastery of creative, visual storytelling, step-by-step, from conception to completed professional products to a diverse pool of students. Examples of Duties Teach courses in accordance with published course descriptions, schedules, procedures, and course outlines.
Work with the campus dean, associate dean, department chairs and other faculty and staff as appropriate to assess and modify course and program goals, objectives, methods, and content.
Conduct on-going evaluation of student progress and maintain records of student course/class performance.
Prepare and submit grade reports and other reports on student performance as may be scheduled or required.
Conduct class evaluations and complete other college evaluations in accordance with college policy.
Maintain a high level of expertise in the subjects taught. Other duties as assigned. The compensation (pay level) for this position is based upon the degree level attained and years of experience in the specific discipline (Step 10 is the maximum step for an incoming faculty member). Typical Qualifications Required Skills:

Extensive demonstrated knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction.
Excellent teaching and pedagogical skills.
Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and instruction.
Understanding of the characteristics of diverse community college students and effective ways to engage them.
Understanding of principles of curriculum development and effective implementation.
Ability to use a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Canvas.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with a variety of audiences in a variety of settings.
Ability to make professional judgments within defined parameters of policy and professional standards.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
Expert user of current Apple Macintosh hardware, software, and media tools.
Mastery of current versions of Adobe Creative Cloud software, specifically, Adobe Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Media Encoder.
Knowledge of current versions of Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve and related tools.
Mastery of essential areas of video production including preproduction, production, postproduction, and media management.
Excellent planning, management, screenwriting, storyboarding, and storytelling skills.
Expert knowledge of color correction, grading, LUTs, LOG, media file formats, scopes, codecs, export settings, proxies, plugins, and MOGRTs.
Expertise in video streaming content, workflows, video switching, live events, and equipment.
Strong design, advertising, and social media skills especially in the use of video for storytelling.
Strong AI skills and related tools to enhance visual storytelling and workflows.
Strong knowledge of mirrorless camera systems, lens, rigs, gimbals, drones, and gear for video.
Strong knowledge of audio equipment, microphones, pickup patterns, placement, 32-bit float, audio capture, editing, mixing, ADR, Foley, and professional audio workflows.
Excellent grasp of lighting techniques, equipment, setup, and cinematography.
Expertise in animation, motion graphics, and infographics for video.
Professional skills in keying, compositing, special effects, VFX, SFX, and motion capture.
Knowledge of 2D & 3D animation software such as Blender or Unreal Engine.
Mastery of current versions of office productivity software such as Microsoft Office. Required Education A minimum of a Master’s degree in digital media, film, graphic arts, television, or other electronic media field;
or Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in digital media, film, graphic arts, television, or other electronic media field. Preferred Experience Teaching experience is preferred.
Documented experience in film, television, or video production.
