Designer (Seasonal)
New York, NY
The Designer, Brand Design (Seasonal) will support the development and execution of visual branding across Major League Baseball’s key initiatives, events, and campaigns. This role contributes to brand identity creation, style guide development, and production-ready design assets. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, the designer will help ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints—including print, environmental design, and digital—while providing high-level creative support for presentations, activations, and league-wide experiences. This is an on-site, seasonal position based in MLB’s New York City headquarters. Responsibilities Support the development and executive of visual branding and a wide range graphic design projects across key Major League Baseball initiatives.

This includes:

Assisting in the creation and refinement of branding for MLB events, initiatives, properties, products, commemorative marks, and campaign identities
Contributing to the development of brand style guides and visual systems
Create production-ready art
Assist with the development of League branding guidelines
Helping establish and maintain consistency in branding across all MLB platforms
Ensure branding is implemented cohesively across all design touchpoints.

These responsibilities include:

Collaborating with all MLB Global Designers, including MLB Digital, Social, and International teams
Creation and implementation of templates and graphic systems
Reviewing and refining design assets to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and creative direction
Supporting the rollout of visual identities across league-wide campaigns, events, and platforms
Develop and support high-level design work across departments, including:
Sales and partnership presentations
Events and environmental design
Consumer product inspiration boards, uniforms, and licensee toolkits
Retail and point-of-sale experiences
Broadcast and promotional materials
Internal concept boards, mockups, and creative strategy decks
Collaborate with vendors, agencies, and internal stakeholders to bring brand concepts to life, including:
Providing clear direction to external partners
Reviewing work to ensure alignment with brand strategy and creative standards
Managing feedback loops and production timelines
Assist in the design and production of event branding and environmental design, including:
Experiential activations and installations
Credentials, invitations, signage, and collateral for marquee league events
Pre- and post-production support as needed Qualification & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in branding, graphic design, or visual identity systems
Strong portfolio showcasing logo development, brand systems, and applied design
Clear understanding of how brand identity translates across digital, social, print, and physical environments
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Experience working with presentation platforms such as PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides
Strong organization and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
Familiarity with print production and post-production workflows
A passion for baseball and an interest in sports branding is a plus

Pay Range:

$28.00 – $34.00 per hour The actual offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
