Network Boundary Engineer Position Available In Madison, Alabama

• Network Boundary Engineer
• to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Redstone Arsenal in the Huntsville, AL area or Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs area.

This position may require on-call support and occasional off-hours work for maintenance or incident response.

Key Duties

• Design, implement, and maintain network perimeter infrastructure such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers
• Configure and troubleshoot network routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
• Plan, configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure to ensure secure network operations
• Monitor network performance and recommend improvements to optimize edge connectivity
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to perimeter network devices in a timely manner
• Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures
• Manage and maintain the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Ensure network systems comply with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support business-critical applications and services
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.

Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire. • Active Secret Clearance
• 5 or more years of experience in enterprise routing and switching
• 3 or more years of experience in firewall planning, configuration, and maintenance
• Experience with OSI model and IP protocol stack
• Experience working with network switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) as they pertain to NetScaler, Cisco, Citrix, and Firepower
• Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, etc.).Desired Skills, Experience, and Education
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
• Familiarity with application load balancers such as NetScaler or F5
• Strong understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Solid knowledge of security, audit, and compliance principles
• Understanding of Domain Name System (DNS) operations and management
• Awareness of web applications and typical traffic patterns.
