JRSS/SMT

Responsibilities:

Designs, engineers, and implements associated projects. Develop LAN/WAN network designs to accommodate a data centermigration. Demonstrated knowledge and hands on experience with LAN/WAN setup,TCP/IP protocol, routing/switching configurations, and firewalltechnologies. Demonstrated knowledge with content switching and loadbalancers. Troubleshooting complex network issues such as performanceanalysis, protocol problems, hardware failures and WAN/LANconnectivity issues. VoIP component configuration and deployment experience is aplus. Have a general knowledge of systems and enterprise storagetechnologies. Participate in the implementation of agreed upon solutions andstrategies. Troubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and externalresources. Generate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks orproblems. Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes forassigned tasks and projects. Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensurecompatibility and functionality. Follow policies and procedures for change and incidentmanagement. Responsible for the full integration of the JRSS platform andassociated support systems for the program. Design, engineer and integrate and operate the JRSS systems intoAFINC architecture seamlessly. Resolves network problems; operate network analyzers, WAN testequipment, and network simulators. Monitors data or voice system networks for various messages,alarms, or issues. Activates scripts as alarms occur or issuessurface. Troubleshoots problems using scripts and standard, routineprocedures. Research issues to determine if problem may be resolved usingpredefined procedures. Executes scheduled maintenance routines in accordance with standardprocedures. Identifies issues or problems and resolves asappropriate; Performs 1-4 problem determination. Participate in the implementation of agreed upon solutions andstrategies. Troubleshoot technology issues, using various internal and externalresources. Generate innovative approaches and solutions to recurring tasks orproblems. Document technical problems, resolutions, and processes forassigned tasks and projects. Participate in testing and evaluation of new technologies to ensurecompatibility and functionality.

Qualifications:

Candidate should have 7+ years of progressively responsible networkengineering hands-on in: Enterprise network management, focusing primarily on Ciscodevices. Installation, configuration, and support of network switches,routers, and wireless Aps Experience with network topologies such as Ethernet, Fast Ethernet,GbE VLAN, and SONET. Experience in implementing converged networks to include VoIP, VTCand QoS methods. Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLANimplementation and management. Proven experience with network capacity planning, network securityprinciples, and general network management best practices. Strong working technical knowledge of current network hardware,protocols, and Internet standards, including Cisco products andsolutions. Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operatingsystems, including Cisco IOS platforms. Excellent network hardware troubleshooting experience. Ability to understand the organization’s goals and objectives andimplement solutions to meet those goals and objectives. Knowledge of networking protocols and IP subnetting Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, BGP) Knowledge and experience with Juniper platform are a plus. Must be able to push/pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs. Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the year, dependent oncontract needs and requirements that may arise. Experience in directly managing teams of diverse technicalpersonnel responsible for the daily operations. Education/Certification(s): Technical degree, Associates or, bachelor’s degree in computerscience/information systems, Science/Engineering/Math, or 7+ years’relevant experience in Information Technology preferably withinsystem or application administration is acceptable.
