Job Description

The System Administrator III (VMWare) will support the United States Air Force

AFINC III

program under the 26th Network Operations Squadron (26 NOS). The System Administrator III will perform advanced VMWare infrastructure administration, hardening, security enforcement, troubleshooting, patch management, and performance optimization across Air Force enterprise environments.

In this role you will:
  • Create and manage capacity and trending reports of system operations
  • Analyze system requirements and performance of hardware/software systems, and develop/recommend specific measures to increase the overall efficiency of these systems
  • Perform day to day troubleshooting and maintenance of VMware ESXi, vCenter, NSX and related servers
  • Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all VMware servers and related installed software
  • Notify appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves
  • Neatly bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair Required Clearance Must possess an active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • 7+ years’ experience performing installations, tests, tuning, maintenance, hardening, upgrades, patches, designs and documents supporting systems, utility programs, and monitoring tools for physical hosts and virtual machines running VMWare operating systems on both classified and unclassified networks
  • Must possess Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) or Network Virtualization (VCP-NV) IAT-II compliant through one of the following professional certifications: o CompTIA Security+ o GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) o SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) o CCNA Security o CySA+ (Certified Cybersecurity Analyst) o CND (Certified Network Defender) System administration is performed in shifts with day shift beginning at 7:00am and finishing at 3:00pm (lunch is optional and extends work day).

Swing/afternoon shift begins at 3:00 and finishes at 11:00pm (no lunch). Night shift begins at 11:00pm and concludes at 7:00am the next morning. C2 Essentials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
