A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Network Planning Engineer.

(Onsite) As a Network Planning Engineer, you will:

Evaluate technologies and designs in relation to the critical infrastructure and service needs for external customersSupport on-call rotation and planned off hours maintenance events as neededTroubleshoot and resolve backbone and customer routing issuesImplement solutions that support customer visions and objectivesParticipate in inter program initiatives and discussions to resolve technical challengesCreate and maintain documentation and training for engineering and NOC teamsMaintain operational excellence of network system and components to exceed customer expectationsDefine and implement best practices for network and capacity managementIdentify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimizationRoutinely perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integrationTravel as required to meet for requirement meetings and system integration planning The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent of a 4-year accredited degree in a technical discipline.

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior WAN Telecommunications networks experienceMEF 2.0 certification and/or equivalent level experience.

CCNA Certification or equivalent work experience a plus

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applicationsExperience designing and implementing network technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and SDN technologiesExperience with Cisco IOS command line interface (CLI) for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining Cisco devicesMust be able to demonstrate the ability to design, implement and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructuresKnowledge of IP technologies such as Pseudo Wire and Ethernet switchingKnowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processesKnowledge of WAN/LAN, TDM and Voice switching systems; TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ATM and specific routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP and RIP; VoIP, DWDM, CTI and VPN technologiesExperience with leading network vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, RADExperience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv Qualified candidates should

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS

Pay Range•: $45-$50 per hour. •Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
