  • Senior Automation Engineer
  • to work fully on-site in Jacksonville, FL.
  • Role Summary:
  • You will apply extensive and diversified knowledge of automation and electronic principles & practices plant-wide.

Make decisions regarding engineering problems and methods to address problems and to plan and spearhead work. Lead major projects in warehouse and fully automated material handling environment. Responsible for the engineering and quality assurance of part of a major project or for a complete small project. You will have the opportunity to focus on application administration, programming, and analytical problem solving. You will collaborate with IT, Facilities, Quality, and Operations.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • + Provide technical assistance and expertise to Operations considering the implementation of a coordinated or automated factory floor system.

+ Provide technical support required by Engineering to fully and authoritatively integrate the facilities floor systems. + Lead users in developing operating procedures and user manuals and leads training sessions on the functions and operations of various systems. + Lead process improvement projects in a warehouse or automated distribution environment. + This person will work with Information Technology, Quality Control, and Validation to implement new applications or controlled changes to existing applications meeting FDA and cGMP requirements and develops a keen understanding of current and pending regulations and their impact on our applications. + Ensure applications are consistent with the Electronic Records & Signature regulation requirements for audit trails, security, backup, and retention. Leads in the development and execution of test plans, IQ, OQ, and PQ validation protocols for new or upgraded floor systems; Participates in the yearly capital and departmental budgeting and project planning and prioritization process. + Helps with the identification, evaluation, selection, and implementation of third-party systems, equipment and equipment vendors as well as contract resources. + Participate in vendor selection and evaluation. + Installation and configuration of application systems. + Assist in the preparation of impact assessment when addressing system failures. + Lead projects to deliver on cost and schedule. + Be able to work on multi-functional teams and interact and collaborate with multiple Technology Platforms / COE’s.

  • Qualifications
  • + A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, preferably a focus/concentration in Controls Automation.

+ PMP or FPX certification preferred. + A confirmed experience in Applications Development and manufacturing floor systems implementation required. + Prior experience in a GxP environment within the medical device or FDA-regulated industry is strongly preferred. + Detailed working knowledge of structured methodologies for software engineering, applications, and manufacturing systems such as PLC (Allen-Bradley / Rockwell) controllers is required. + Experience in IT / Automation Ethernet Networks is required. + This position may require up to 20% travel Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
