We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Middleware Engineer to join our client’s team in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves managing and optimizing middleware environments, ensuring seamless integration across applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with IBM WebSphere, OpenShift, automation tools, and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities

Middleware Management:

Administer, install, patch, and configure IBM WebSphere products, Apache, Tomcat, and

IBM HTTP

Server in Linux and OpenShift environments.

Automation & Scripting:

Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and Python scripts to automate tasks and improve efficiency.

Containerization & Orchestration:

Support and troubleshoot applications running on RedHat OpenShift Container Platform; experience with Kubernetes and Operators is essential.

Monitoring & Performance Tuning:

Utilize tools like Datadog and Dynatrace to monitor system performance metrics and latency; implement optimizations as needed.

CI/CD Pipeline Management:

Build and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub.

Log Management:

Monitor OpenShift, application, and system logs using the Elastic Stack for troubleshooting and performance analysis.

Cloud Infrastructure:

Administer hybrid cloud environments in AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including infrastructure provisioning with Terraform.

Networking & Security:

Troubleshoot networking issues using tools like Wireshark; manage load balancer rules in NetScaler; ensure secure middleware configurations.

Vendor Collaboration:

Work closely with product vendors for problem resolution, product roadmaps, and technical guidance.

Incident Response:

Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to incidents to minimize downtime. Required Skills & Experience

Middleware Expertise:

Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, and

IBM HTTP

Server.

Scripting & Automation:

Proficiency in Python scripting; experience with Ansible for automation.

Containerization & Orchestration:

Strong knowledge of RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Operators.

Monitoring Tools:

Experience with Datadog, Dynatrace, and Elastic Stack for system monitoring and log analysis.

CI/CD Tools:

Familiarity with Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub for continuous integration and deployment.

Cloud Platforms:

Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform; proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure management.

Networking Tools:

Skilled in using Wireshark for troubleshooting; understanding of load balancing with NetScaler.

DevOps Practices:

Solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

Communication:

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Education & Certifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in middleware technologies, cloud platforms, or DevOps practices are a plus.
