- Conduct advanced monitoring of telecommunications network
- Perform detailed testing and reviews of telecommunications systems
- Analyze complex performance metrics to identify trends and issues
- Draft and submit comprehensive reports to assist with system development
- Identify and troubleshoot network bottlenecks and recommend strategic improvements
- Provide intermediate training and support on telecommunication functionality to customers
- Assist in the design and implementation of network upgrades
- Perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure network efficiency
- Works with vendors to coordinate support and warranty services
- Documents system policies, procedures, and results of tests
- Maintains and creates new system documentation
- Assists faculty, staff and students with technical questions related to managed systems
- Reads and interprets technical manuals
- Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions
- Works with diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of University students and staff

Program Direction and Development The incumbent shall participate in the discovery and analysis of trends. Level of Public Contact Level of public contact is high. Participation in all new construction and remodeling initiatives gives this employee broad contact with the contractors, architects, subs, Facilities Planning personnel for the university. Additionally, since the telecommunications team is a highly-focused customer service organization, contact with the user base on campus for voice, data and video functionality is high. Monetary Responsibility None. The incumbent may develop and provide budgetary estimates, as requested by management.
