Description About the Role We are seeking a skilled Security Network Engineer to join our dynamic team at a leading Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP). In this role, you will design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures across a variety of client environments. You will work closely with clients, analysts, and other engineers to ensure robust protection against evolving cybersecurity threats. Key Responsibilities + Network Security Architecture & Design + Design and deploy secure network solutions for multiple client environments. + Implement firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security appliances. + Operations & Incident Support + Monitor and troubleshoot network security infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. + Respond to and investigate network-related security incidents in coordination with SOC teams. + Configuration & Maintenance + Configure firewalls, routers, and switches in multi-tenant environments. + Maintain documentation of network architecture, security controls, and client configurations. + Client-Facing Support + Act as a technical point of contact for clients, helping assess risks and propose mitigation strategies. + Support onboarding of new clients, ensuring security posture meets best practices and compliance standards. + Compliance & Best Practices + Ensure network security solutions meet relevant regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI
DSS, ISO 27001
). + Stay current on cybersecurity trends, zero-day vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies. + Automation & Scripting (optional but desirable) + Develop automation scripts to support configuration management and log analysis. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field—or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience in network or security engineering, preferably within an MSSP or service provider environment. Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and security principles. Experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, VPNs, and SIEM technologies. Proficient with configuration and management of routers, switches, and access control systems. Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, tcpdump, and similar diagnostic utilities.
