Shift:

First Shift (United States of America) Tech Systems Lead Engineer At Nebraska Medicine, we’re transforming healthcare through innovation, advanced technology, and a steadfast commitment to patient-centered care. We are seeking an experienced professional to help drive that mission forward through expert support of our Epic Operational Database infrastructure. The ideal candidate either holds an active Epic ODBA certification or brings at least 5 years of hands-on experience as an AIX System Administrator, managing enterprise-scale InterSystems Caché/IRIS database environments. Expertise with IBM Power9/Power10 architectures, advanced AIX skills including LPAR creation and reconfiguration and solid experience with AIX/Linux OS installation, configuration, and administration are essential. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of our Epic infrastructure while offering the chance to engage in forward-looking projects that drive clinical and operational excellence.

The Tech Systems Lead Engineer will provide long range technical planning and direction for the organization?s information technology systems and networks. Assume primary leadership and coordination responsibilities for complex, multiple phase projects to ensure the hospital computer systems and network goals and objectives are met.

Required Qualifications:

Tech Systems Lead Engineer

  • Minimum of seven years of information technology experience to include experience in multiple technologies, multi-server environments and system and network services with security, networking principles and design, system engineering and design, and TCP/IP required.
  • Ability to mentor and train coworkers required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management, information systems, or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined (One year of education equals one year of experience) required.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with strong customer focus required.
  • Software/hardware troubleshooting and configuration for servers required.
  • Server operating system knowledge, Active Directory account management and security, backup and restoration principles, and Data Center installation processes required.
  • Knowledge and application of Active Directory required.
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7 as required.
Preferred Qualifications:

Tech Systems Lead Engineer

  • Based on department need current SAN environment experince in
IBM XIV, HP XP, HP

EVAs, HP x9000s(formerly Ibrix), HHP P4xxx (formerly LeftHand), iSCSI switches and Brocade directors is preferred.

  • Experience in system and/or network engineering, experience with multi-server and multi-protocol environments, active directory (AD), Citrix, and VMware preferred.
  • Experience with networking principles and theory, TCP/IP, and/or Windows preferred.
  • Cache, and/or UNIX experience may be required as assigned.
  • Microsoft MCSE or Citrix CCA certification preferred.
  • Related experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Windows server (all current versions), PC operating systems, networking principles and theory preferred.
  • VMWare, Citrix, Exchange, Sharepoint, SQL, Oracle, SAN, server blades experience preferred.
  • Internet Information Services (IIS) skills preferred.
