If you feel you have the skills and ambition to do this job, please apply today! This role reports to the Team Leader of the Project Design Support Team. Responsibilities/You Will Provide direction and ongoing design oversight to the development of design system packaging of building automation systems created by consultants and contractors. The determination of the suitability of the designs by consultants and contractors is the responsibility of this role. Design facility controls from small to large scale projects. Create HVAC Sequence of Operations requirements for new installations and renovations. Oversee and guide consultant provided Sequence of Operation designs. Program and commission new building automation control systems and modify existing facility controls from controllers to field devices. Oversee third-party development of control system graphical representation and provide input on the correct application of the graphics. Work closely with maintenance technicians, operations, executives, and system engineers on the management, troubleshooting, and system-level adjustments. Perform site visits for the retrieval of field verifications to support the design process (i.e.: details, measurements, existing conditions, product data, etc.). Support the development and creation of Requests for Proposals and design estimates. Lead your project to develop logical, straightforward solutions to complex problems. Act as a strategic thinking partner for stakeholders throughout The Walt Disney Company. Work on plans for new attractions or hotels that are years away, finding ways to ensure safety and cost-effectiveness in a way that still allows our famous Imagineers to tell a story. Since Guests in our Parks and Resorts deserve things to be operational at all times, you will have to devise ways to “keep the flow going” while making improvements or repairs. Develop strong working relationships within your team and throughout the Disney enterprise. Qualifications 7 – 10 years of experience with Building Automation System controls design. Knowledgeable of energy management, building automation, time schedules, facility controls and commissioning said systems. Experience in HVAC design and systems including chiller and boiler plants, pipe and plumbing systems, air handlers, ductwork, water and air flow diagrams. Troubleshooting mechanical systems and low voltage control systems training. Ability to perform building automation system level troubleshooting. Familiar with actuators, space temperatures, humidity, and CO2 sensors. Sharp oral and written communication skills, and ability to “tell the story” to stakeholders who do not have an engineering background. Leadership skills, as well as the desire and ability to mentor less experienced engineers. Flexibility to work some nights, weekends and holidays, according to the project. Familiarity with ASHRAE Guidelines. Education Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum. Preferred Qualifications PE license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain one within 1 year. Knowledge of motor and lighting control schematics including control relays. Proficient with the system programming and commissioning. Experience with Carrier Controls i-Vu system is a plus.
