Job Description

Network Field Engineer/ Network Technician

Job Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Field Technician with hands-on experience in networking hardware installation, wireless deployments, and structured cabling. The ideal candidate will support field operations including the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of wired and wireless networking equipment, ensuring seamless connectivity across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Deployment
Install, replace, and configure network switches and access points (Cisco preferred).
Perform basic IP addressing, VLAN configuration, and ping-based troubleshooting.
Conduct wireless surveys using tools like Ekahau Sidekick or similar.
Mount and align wireless access points, including in high-ceiling environments.
Ensure optimal AP placement while considering RF interference and signal coverage.
Cabling & Infrastructure
Handle structured copper and fiber cabling as per layout specifications (IDFs, MDFs).
Execute cable dressing, labelling, and organization according to best practices.
Use cable testing tools such as Fluke or Net Ally for performance validation.
Tool Operation
Operate and maintain various field tools including:
Ethernet cable testers
Console cables & laptops
Wireless survey devices (Sidekick or AirCheck)
Labeling machines
Hand tools and lifts (with appropriate training)

Qualifications:

Basic understanding of

LAN/WLAN

networking.
Prior experience with Cisco switch and AP installations preferred.
Familiarity with wireless deployment tools and RF planning concepts.
Working knowledge of structured cabling standards and tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including at heights.
Willing to travel between job sites as needed.
