The applications in which our products are used are typically inthe higher-performance, higher-power segments of the marketsegments we serve. Our products are sold worldwide to customersranging from small to large global original equipment manufacturers(OEMs), their contract manufacturers (CM’s) and internationally todistributors who support their supply chains. Our Advanced Productsserve customers concentrated in the High Performance Computing,Aerospace and Defense, Industrial and Automotive markets.
Applications range from powering advanced processors in servermotherboards and artificial intelligence accelerator cards andsystems, server rack power conversion, radar systems, industrialautomation, instrumentation, test equipment, solid state lighting,telecommunications and networking infrastructure, and mild hybridand pure electric vehicle (EV) automobiles. - Deploy andmaintain company LANs, WANs, Telecommunications, VOIP, Security andwireless networks, which include servers, routers, hubs, switches,firewalls, PBX equipment, IPS/IPD and other hardware.
- Configurenetworks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation forfulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Define and providedirection to our managed service providers (e.g. CenterBeam,Telecom Carriers, Cabling, Build outs &MAC vendors) consistentwith best practices. Monitor network performance and troubleshootproblem areas as needed.
- Collaborate with other infrastructureengineering personnel to assess near- and long-term networkcapacity needs.
- Create and maintain documentation related tonetwork configuration, network mapping, processes, and servicerecords.
- Implement and maintain policies, procedures, andassociated training plans for network administration and usage.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, andstandards to remain abreast of developments in the networkingindustry and provide solution recommendations as needed to meetbusiness or application needs.
- Practice network asset management,including maintenance of network component inventory and relateddocumentation.
- Monitor/test network performance and providenetwork performance metric reports.
- Oversee new and existingequipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Coordinate theestablishment of processes, procedures and documentation to insure7 x 24 availability of local/wide area network.
- Assess impact ofnew versions of network operating systems and equipment and makerecommendations for deployment.
- Insure that appropriate networksecurity measures are in place to protect corporate assets.
- Interface with UNIX and Windows engineering personnel as necessaryto achieve required connectivity and performance.
- Working outsideof normal hours should be expected along with providing on-callsupport coverage.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science, or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years ofnetworking experience. Cisco or network certifications highlydesirable Detailed knowledge of cabling standards, TCP/IP, VLANSand routing protocols along with troubleshooting techniques withnetwork management software. Demonstrated experience withsuccessful LAN, WAN, WLAN and WWAN design and implementation aswell as experience with network capacity planning, network securityprinciples, and general network management best practices.
Demonstrated ability in managing vendors and service providers.
Strong knowledge of network equipment, including Cisco routers andswitches, Firewalls, Site-to-Site VPN, and SSL remote accessrequired. Specific experience and strong technical knowledgeworking with Cisco Catalyst 6509/5500/4510/4000, Cisco routers,Juniper products (Netscreen, Load Balancers & SSL remote access)and Packeteer preferred Knowledge of Definity PBX and VOIP systemsis a plus. Competence with testing tools and procedures for voiceand data circuits. Strong interpersonal, written, and oralcommunication skills and be highly self motivated and directed,with keen attention to detail & customer focus Able to conductresearch into networking issues as required with proven analyticaland problem-solving abilities. Able to effectively prioritize tasksin a high-pressure environment with strong customer serviceorientation and experience working in a team-oriented,collaborative environment. $99,920 – $130,000 Please note:
This range is based on our current market driven pay structures.
Individual salaries are determined based upon a variety of factorsincluding but not limited to, a candidates overall qualifications,such as skills, education, and experience as well as companyinternal equity.
