Laura Rawson, Personnel Manager, 601-576-6866 About the Position The Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) is seeking a Network Infrastructure Specialist to serve in the information systems section of the Administration Division. This position is responsible for managing the daily operations and continuously improving MDAH’s network infrastructure. The individual in this role will oversee the administration and optimization of network systems to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient performance. This role requires extensive experience with network devices, including switches, firewalls, servers, hypervisors, storage solutions, and a strong understanding of networking principles. The ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues is essential. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and providing guidance to less experienced staff, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. What you’ll need to be Successful Success in this role requires a strong technical expertise in networking, along with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach, a commitment to completing tasks efficiently, and a willingness to continuously learn and improve in a dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in network operations and administration. •

Agency Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in IT, with a focus on network operations and administration, are typically required. A Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred but not mandatory.
