MDA recruits new companies to Mississippi, helps existing companies expand and provides support to foster growth and new opportunities in a variety of areas, including energy, small and minority business, trade, film, retiree recruitment and more. Additionally, MDA attracts millions of visitors to the state each year through Visit Mississippi, the tourism division of the agency. MDA also supports pass-through funding and provides support for a variety of grant programs and non-profits, such as Innovate Mississippi and Mississippi Main Street Association. About the Position This is a non-state service position. (X-16) The Network Infrastructure Team Lead will be responsible for the analysis, design, and management of MDA’s network and system infrastructure. This role involves monitoring both physical and virtual servers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. This is a supervisory position, providing guidance and support to enhance MDA’s technology capabilities. Expertise will be crucial in maintaining a secure and efficient network environment while driving special projects that align with organizational goals. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitor physical and virtual servers and network communications, ensuring seamless internal and external connectivity. Oversee service contracts and act as the agency’s representative for vendor service calls. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network equipment, software, and hardware to keep the agency’s network innovative and effective. Ensure compliance with State ITS rules and regulations regarding network, data, and systems. Adhere to the state ITS Enterprise Security Policy and promote a culture of security awareness. Provide positive leadership to staff, identifying training needs for the area supervised.

Applications Support:

Analyze user problems and provide actionable solutions to staff for implementation. Assess user needs and guide them in utilizing specific software packages effectively.

Special Projects:

Undertake routine and non-routine tasks to support the agency’s needs and objectives.

Skills Technical Expertise:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge in internet development and technologies to serve as a subject matter expert.

Continuous Learning:

Actively participate in relevant training courses, including online platforms, to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Effective Communication:

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise information sharing.

Problem-Solving:

Exhibit strong analytical abilities to identify issues and implement effective solutions efficiently.

Hyper-V:

Have experience and proficiency in managing and operating within a Hyper-V environment, including the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of virtualized networks and systems.

Azure:

Should have experience performing network and systems administration duties in an Azure environment, with a strong working knowledge of how SharePoint, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 applications integrate and function together to support seamless collaboration and productivity. What you’ll need to be Successful Supervisory/Managerial experience, experience in network and systems administration. Strong working knowledge of SharePoint, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 Applications. Strong Project Management Skill with Command of the Technical Disciplines. Experience in application development, and knowledge in the development field. Strong multi-tasking abilities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent time-management, organizational and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 8-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis on network operations and administration.
