Position Description:
The Network Engineer will be a member of the infrastructure team at the Goodyear Tupelo plant responsible for professional and technical work for our Cisco Network and Telecommunications Services. This is an Intermediate Service Supporting Role primarily responsible for the transitional and operational tasks/duties in support of Network Service for the plant including
LAN / WAN
/ Wireless / Telecom / Data Center Network with the focus on Cisco products.
Principal Responsibilities:
Provide support and strategy recommendations to guide the
LAN/ WAN
/Telecommunications / Data Center Networking.
Provide expert consultation to Infrastructure Groups on the interaction of Networks and Networking Systems on Business Functions and/or IT Systems. Engineer new tools and processes to optimize existing Networking Solutions (Transport or Systems) for enhanced performance or cost.
Manage complex and multi-disciplinary projects within area of specialization and across the plant. Flexible schedules and 24×7 support availability
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelors’ degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business 3 or more years of experience in the Networking space desired.
In lieu of degree 8 years of IT experience
Desired Personal Skills/Attributes/and Qualifications:
Deliver prompt, efficient, quality service to the business; works to anticipate, identify and meet end-user needs; drives outward results and ensures high-quality standards are met. Strong work ethic desired.
Familiarity with PLC and HMI controllers, and experience supporting manufacturing control systems a plus but not required.
