Position Overview:

Team Ignite is seeking a qualified Computer Network Architect to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable network infrastructures that enable critical mission systems for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG). The ideal candidate will be experienced in modeling and planning complex data communications networks, including LANs, WANs, intranets, and extranets, and ensuring network security and performance. This role requires the ability to conduct end-to-end network design, recommend appropriate hardware and software solutions, and support end users through troubleshooting, training, and diagnostics. The selected candidate will also assist the LAN Administrator with server support and provide desktop and network support services across various platforms. This position is pending contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement secure computer and data communications networks including LAN, WAN, intranet, and extranet systems. Perform network modeling, analysis, capacity planning, and optimization to ensure performance and scalability. Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software solutions aligned with organizational goals. Implement network security measures and support incident response and vulnerability remediation tasks. Install, maintain, and upgrade computer systems, software, and peripherals; provide basic technical support to end-users. Troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, and software issues, providing on-the-spot diagnostics and user training. Assist with system administration tasks including server maintenance and performance monitoring in coordination with LAN Administrators. Maintain accurate records of network configurations, updates, inventory, and help desk resolutions. Train office staff in the proper operation of networked systems and general IT best practices.

Journeyman Level:
Education:

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or a related field, or a minimum IT certification. (Two years of experience is equivalent to one year of education.)

Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience planning and designing data communication networks. Minimum of two (2) years performing security remediation for systems with vulnerabilities based on security scans. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an Agile DevSecOps software and engineering environment. Minimum of one (1) year of experience with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket, or equivalent collaboration tools.
