Citizenship Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support enterprise network operations for a mission-critical U.S. military organization. In this role, you will design, implement, secure, and maintain complex network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, availability, and resiliency across classified and unclassified environments. You’ll play a key role in supporting current operations while positioning the network for future scalability and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze customer requirements and deliver secure, scalable technical network solutions to meet mission objectives.
Plan, install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN appliances, and remote access systems.
Ensure network integrity, security, and connectivity across environments while maintaining compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Monitor network performance and availability, identify issues, and implement timely resolutions to minimize impact to operations.
Perform system backups and ensure robust disaster recovery capabilities are in place.
Evaluate emerging networking technologies to improve system capability and performance.
Support acquisition planning for network hardware/software and coordinate with subcontractors as needed.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years of experience in network engineering or related IT infrastructure roles.
DoD 8140/DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (e.g. Security+, CISSP)
A secondary industry technical certification, e.g., Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365

Certified:

Enterprise Administrator, CCNA, VCP-DCV, etc.
Proven experience managing enterprise network environments including LAN/WAN, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
Familiarity with both physical and virtual network infrastructure.
Hands-on experience with Cisco or comparable network hardware platforms.
Strong understanding of IP networking, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and network security principles.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Ability to assess complex technical issues and implement effective, mission-aligned solutions.
Skilled in developing network diagrams, documentation, and operational procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and brief senior leadership.
Ability to coach and guide junior team members or peers.
Maintains currency with evolving networking technologies, standards, and DoD security requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

CCNA or equivalent industry certification.
Experience supporting classified military or government IT environments.
Familiarity with DISA STIGs and RMF-compliant network configurations.
