Responsibilities:
Specifically, this role will entail the following scope: Provideautomation support and oversight to design and delivery of Lilly’snew Research Triangle Park facility. Manage system integrators todeliver all aspects of Automation for Lilly’s new Raleigh basedfacility. Support key corporate initiatives such as life cyclemanagement, Engineering information management, and cyber securityEvaluate new technology and innovation trends leading to thedevelopment of proof of concepts and sharing of use cases forapplication within Lilly. Drive automation governance andreplication across the Global Parenteral Network and the GlobalPackaging Network for Filling, Formulation, Autoclaves, Partswashers, Automated Inspection equipment, architecture, andAutomation/IT systems and solutions. In addition, this role willwork to optimizes and improve project automation engineeringapproaches by combining technical expertise, best practices,engineering standards, and project delivery expertise. KeyObjectives/Deliverables Safety – Work safely and continually looksfor improvements in personnel and equipment safety, ensure safedesign and operation of new equipment, ensure automation designreflects safety concerns for operations and maintenance. AutomationDesign – Lead and support project profiling and design as needed.
Ensure project design meets intended requirements, considers lifecycle cost, and eliminates non-value add complexity. Usereplication and best practices to optimize project cost. ProjectDelivery – Perform, review, and provide technical automationguidance to project C&Q/Verification teams to ensure on timedelivery of project design and qualification documents. Provideclear documentation for delivered solutions and processes; workclosely with system SMEs and site Quality while supportingcomputerized systems verification processes in a GxP environment.
Must be able to execute work independently, work with varioussupport teams across the organization and be able to oversee andlead activities to ensure that automated cGMP equipment,facilities, and utilities perform as intended. Lead investigationsof automation related issues and incidents to prevent recurrenceincluding the development of corrective/preventative actions. Buildbusiness processes to support the project scope in alignment withproject timelines. Develop detailed specifications and Engineeringprocedures that affect parenteral workstream. Technology &Innovation – Keep current on external trends and practices toevaluate technology for application within Lilly.
Automation/Control Discipline and Technical Leadership – Partnerwith colleagues to lead the discipline through solution assessment,replication, and development. Manage tools, engineering standards,master specifications and best practices. Provide technicalcoaching and consultation to other Lilly engineers, facilitateshared learning forums. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree inEngineering or related science degree Minimum 3 years’ experiencein automation machine control, process control, or equivalent workexperience in a related field. Qualified candidates must be legallyauthorized to be employed in the United States. AdditionalSkills/Preferences Demonstrated ability to work safely Demonstratedexpertise in one or more automation platforms, preferable RockwellAutomation Systems. Significant experience and strongproblem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/ormanufacturing), control systems, integration, and data. Excellentverbal and written communications skills Ability to manage peopleand projects to deliver a common set of objectives Knowledge ofGMP’s and pharmaceutical manufacturing Knowledge in MicrosoftOperating Systems Knowledge in Databases Additional InformationExpectation that the position will be based out of Raleigh, NorthCarolina 8-hour days – Monday through Friday, overtime and someweekend/holiday may be required for project support.

Actual compensation will dependon a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographiclocation. The anticipated wage for this position is $64,500 -$167,200 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for acompany bonus (depending, in part, on company and individualperformance).
