Position Summary:
We are seeking a Lead Process Engineer with a strong understanding of control design, process mapping, and regulatory operations to support a high-impact initiative within a financial crimes and compliance organization. This role is focused on building clear, comprehensive process maps to support control environments, identify execution gaps, and improve end-to-end handoffs across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of process engineering experience, deep familiarity with financial services regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, OFAC, Reg E, Reg Z), and a proactive, hands-on approach to designing workflows-even in environments lacking existing documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design structured process maps for control activities where documentation is incomplete or missing Identify and document handoff gaps and overbuilt or redundant controls across functions Use BPMN and tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar for process modeling Evaluate control environments from a process lens, ensuring accuracy and compliance Develop and maintain desktop procedures and practical documentation for use across teams Collaborate cross-functionally with fraud, compliance, operations, and controls teams Act as a subject matter expert on process mapping and operational risk analysis
Qualifications:
5+ years of process engineering experience, ideally in a financial services or compliance-related setting Proven experience in control design and risk/control alignment Experience with automation tools and frameworks (RPA, AI, or workflow automation preferred) Proficiency with process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN, or similar Strong knowledge of regulations including BSA/AML, OFAC, Reg E, Reg Z Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment with limited structure
