POSITION SUMMARY

Harnett County is currently recruiting for a Network Security Analyst to provide support and maintenance for the county’s technical Infrastructure for Information Technology.

This includes:

supporting servers, LAN/WAN, storage devices, wireless devices, data, and voice communication environments; overseeing cyber security infrastructure and operations; predicting and protecting against threats; responding and recovering from incidents; and developing governing policies and procedures.

Hiring Range:

$63,983.00 to $74,380.00 DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Analyzes security logs; identifies threats, triages and responds to security incidents; and follows internal security protocols. Configures security controls in multiple protection systems and IT infrastructure according to policy standards. Tests network security controls; coordinates remediation efforts and closure of any identified issues. Assists in Countywide broadband infrastructure plan; expands for residents. Facilitates and administers end-user IT security training. Develops network security policy and procedures. Maintains firewalls, routers, VPN appliances, switches, wireless apparatus, and other network equipment. Troubleshoots broadband and connectivity issues for remote workers. Responsible for systems administration of Laserfiche software Maintains all patches on systems including computers and external facing servers Configures/maintains MDM server for all mobile devices and creating security policies to protect data on mobile devices Assists in Cybersecurity Audits for all Departments (including Health, SHF, 911, etc.) Conducts compliance reviews for general support systems, major and minor applications and network infrastructure components to ensure county policy and FISMA requirements are met. Works with various internal teams to test, discover, and resolve vulnerabilities. Stays current with release security features of internal IT systems and software. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of networks and related equipment. Knowledge of information security frameworks. Knowledge of network and security guidelines. Knowledge of computer security recovery methods. Knowledge of wireless infrastructure. Skill in identifying complex problems. Ability to develop and implement solutions Ability to respond to computer security threats.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field; Four (4) years of related work experience; Or equivalent education and/or experience. Possession of Certification in CompTIA Security+ is desired.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to perform light work frequently exerting up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects; and occasionally requiring to exert up to 20 pounds of force to move objects. This work also involves the physical abilities of crawling, crouching, handling, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, lifting, using mental acuity, pulling, pushing, stooping, and expressing ideas by the spoken word. An incumbent must also possess the visual acuity to analyze data and operate a computer.
