Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer Position Available In Mecklenburg, North Carolina

About the Company Insight Global is seeking a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer to join one of our clients in their Detroit or Charlotte location. About the Role This role involves leading the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based virtual desktop infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for architecting and supporting scalable, secure, and high-performing AVD environments that meet the evolving needs of users across the organization. Responsibilities Leading migration efforts from on-premises or other VDI platforms to Azure. Staying current on Microsoft Azure updates, AVD best practices, and evolving cloud technologies. Leading architecture discussions. Providing expert guidance on AVD, Windows 365, and related Microsoft Azure services. Configuring and optimizing session hosts, profiles, app groups, and user experience settings. Developing and maintaining automation scripts for AVD provisioning and scaling using PowerShell and Terraform. Monitoring performance and availability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and other tools. Collaborating with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to governance policies. Providing advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning for AVD and end-user environments. Qualifications 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or end-user computing roles, with at least 2 years focused on Azure Virtual Desktop or similar VDI platforms. Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments; AVD, Windows 365, and related Microsoft Azure services – Using Azure in bigger settings – around 1000 users. Extensive hands-on experience with AVD architecture, including host pools, session hosts, and MSIX app attach. 3+ years of experience with SCCM and Nerdio. Experience with PowerShell and Terraform. Automation scripting experience. Required Skills Experience with Control Up. Experience in Banking or Financial industry.
