https://workdifferently.info/ About the Opportunity We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Network Engineer who’s excited to solve complex technical puzzles and architect high-performance, low-latency networks for demanding environments. Whether you’re an industry veteran with years of hands-on experience or a highly motivated, self-taught techie with an impressive track record of side projects, this might just be your next great opportunity. In this role, you’ll be deeply involved in designing, optimizing, and implementing network infrastructure across a variety of client and internal use cases. You’ll work closely with architects and engineering teams to build and support sophisticated network topologies that power everything from traditional IT environments to AI clusters and high-performance storage systems. Your day-to-day tasks and responsibilities could include but not be limited to… Design and optimize networks for a wide variety of environments and unique performance requirements Collaborate with architects to build advanced topologies for high-performance, low-latency systems Document network architectures clearly through diagrams and written guides (Visio or draw.io) Troubleshoot advanced networking issues across both Linux and Windows environments Configure and deploy complex networking setups using Proxmox VE SDN for client environments About You Whether you’re a seasoned engineer or a skilled learner who’s built real-world experience through projects and tinkering, here’s what will make you a strong candidate: IT-related degree OR equivalent hands-on experience (we’re open to non-traditional backgrounds!) 5+ years preferred in network engineering preferred, with a drive to continuously learn and grow Experience with large-scale BGP/EVPN, IS-IS or OSPF, QoS, DSCP queuing, segment-routing or SR-MPLS Familiarity with designing/operating 25/40/100/400 G Ethernet leaf-spine networks (Clos, EVPN/VXLAN, ECMP) Hands-on with Arista (7050/7060), Cisco Nexus 9k, Juniper QFX/PTX, Mellanox Spectrum, or Broadcom-based solutions Comfortable with NVMe-oF (RDMA & TCP), RoCEv2, iSCSI multipath, FC zoning, Ceph replication, and AI cluster networking Ability to clearly convey network designs, port maps, cable plans, and change history using Visio or draw.io Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to think in terms of the bigger picture Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows through with consistency and integrity Why You’ll Love Working With Us Besides an annual total compensation package that is expected to range between $79,678 – $109,750 USD, as part of the team you’ll enjoy:
