Job Overview:
Provides daily operations support and maintenance for BH network and related information technology assets. Participate in the application of network and related IT technology assets into the enterprise. Participate in the development and implementation of automated systems for BH Corporate and Affiliate entities. Install, configure, and maintain network and related technology infrastructure environments. Work with management to define the appropriate standards, policies, procedures and technologies to facilitate the management, accountability, functionality, and security of BH technology infrastructure assets and systems. Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IS policies, procedures and SLAs. Participate in the process of testing and implementing interfaces. Participates in analysis required to define reporting requirements (e.g., Performance, Capacity, Change management). Proactively monitor system network and related infrastructure technology assets to provide stable, dependable technology asset services and provide ongoing trend analysis. Provide customer and peer training on network and related technology infrastructure toolsets, processes and procedures as required. Participate in projects, architecture, and support (Technology Subject-Matter Expert). The ability to be on call 24×7 on a rotating schedule is a requirement of this position.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate Degree in Technology required Strong IP routing and networking protocol experience, including IPv6 experience. Knowledge of enterprise grade IP networking routers (e.g. Cisco, Aruba) Excellent oral and written communications skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate about technical issues.
Knowledge of routing protocols:
OSPF, BGP, MPLS.
Experience in the field of healthcare is helpful but not required. Must be able to transport information technology-related equipment.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
CCENT & CCNA
certifications preferred. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in information technology and services preferred Experience in the field of healthcare is helpful but not required. 2+ years of experience with switch infrastructure preferred
Essential Functions:
Reporting network operational status by gathering prioritizing information; managing projects. Implement and maintain existing LAN (L2/L3, spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling), remote VPN software, network control protocols (QOS, PoE, NTP, DHCP), network management protocols (CDP, SNMP), and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA) Provide support for all network and data communication issues, including private and internet circuits, routing protocols, VPN connectivity, hardware, and 3rd party vendor connectivity. Research networking issues and products as required and leverage critical thinking skills to evaluate all possible solutions while using appropriate judgment in applying effective resolutions. Properly address and prioritize tasks based on urgent and site needs and manage appropriate/ realistic expectations to ensure overall client satisfaction. Leverage a strong knowledge of equipment, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency. Responsible for configuration, installation and maintenance and in-depth troubleshooting tasks and documenting any network issues. Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with vendors. Escalation of problems as appropriate to management. Support during and after network cutovers and changes to the environment. Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT&S policies, procedures and SLAs Work with management to define the appropriate standards, policies, procedures, software toolsets, and supporting peripherals to facilitate the management, accountability, functionality, and security of networked systems. Unique Requirements Must be able to lift 50 lbs with little to no assistance. Must be able to drive to regional sites as needed. This position requires an on-call rotation, once every 18 weeks. Oncall responsibilities needed for outages.
