Job Description

Senior Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, and support of network technologies across the company’s global landscape with a high degree of focus on security and next generation connectivity. The Senior Network Engineer will also provide on-going day to day tier 3 support for the global data network in response to related support tasks and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and deploy LAN/WAN network infrastructure
  • 3rd level troubleshooting for all LAN/WAN alerts and issues
  • Maintenance of all monitoring and reporting systems
  • Produce and maintain documentation related to all systems developed/deployed
  • Perform on-call duty for non-business hours support as per shift assignments
  • Perform administrative tasks pertaining to time entry and status reporting
  • Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Open for 24×7 availability
  • Conduct technical trainings to internal resources
REQUIREMENTS
  • BA.BS degree
  • CCNP certified
  • 5-8 years of domain experience
  • Possess excellent network troubleshooting skills; Must be able to quickly identify and resolve network related issues in smallest possible time
  • Must be able to clearly interact with the customer, understand the requirements and communicate with the offshore team; Must be able to participate and represent the team in change and incident management meetings
  • Experience with SDWAN
  • Silver Peak preferred
  • Experience with Next Gen Firewalls
  • Cisco Firepower preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting routing loops
  • Experience troubleshooting asymmetric routing & STP loop issues
  • Cisco Catalyst & Nexus 9K/7K series of switches
  • Experience with firewall cloud services
  • Zscaler preferred
  • Experience with Data Center
  • Nexus environment (ACI preferred)
  • Working on all applications such as SAP, Citrix, Portal, etc.
  • AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure Cloud experience is considered a plus
  • Citrix NetScaler load balancer, Cisco FTD (FW), Aruba SD-WAN, and Azure Cloud all considered a plus for experience
    Experience with configuring/troubleshooting:
  • Cisco
ASA, IPS
  • Cisco ISE
  • Cisco WLC preferred
EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
  • VLAN, VTP, STP, EtherChannel
  • Quality of service
  • TCP/IP protocol suite
  • HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, etc.
  • Network security
  • IPSec/SSL VPN/Cisco AnyConnect, AAA architecture, TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1x
  • Cisco
IOS, NX-OS

    The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
