compensation: 100K employment type: experience level: senior level job title: Managed File Transfer Administrator The Managed File Transfer Administrator is responsible for all internal, external and cloud based file transfer services. This position includes complete ownership of SFTP servers and services, managed file transfer solutions, scripting automation, end to end encryption and other similar duties to ensure secure and successful file transfers. The successful candidate will have a strong scripting ability (bash/kornshell/vbs) to architect, solution, support and troubleshoot secure file transfer processes. Essential Functions Manages daily automated SFTP transfers and scheduled file transfers at an expert level for Payroll, Accounts Payable, HR and others, both internal and external, to verify successful transmissions to all parties. Automate file transfers, including writing scripts or API calls, error handling, file manipulation, job monitoring, job scheduling, alert notifications and the like. Proactively monitor jobs and resolve any issues or errors in a timely manner working with all necessary parties. Acts as a Subject Matter Expert with multiple business project owners, venders, banks and other teams to identify file transfers needed for new projects and implement secure automated technologies. Install and replace SSL certificates, manage SSH public and private keys for secure file transfers. Encrypt/decrypt/sign files using automation with standards such as PGP Set up new file transfer scheduled tasks and scripts on Windows, LINUX and AIX systems Development of script in KORN, PEARL, Windows Batch, Powershell, WINSCP Use of Skybot Sheduler, Progress WS_FTP Pro, Symantec PGP and Key ring. Work closely with the Security Officer for the US and Canada to ensure that the security rules for the file transfers is compliant with security doctrine. Perform audits on file transfer account and systems to ensure access that is no longer needed has been removed and grant access where required. Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the environment and work with business users to make corrections and mitigate risks. Support the business on-call after business hours to ensure 24/7 availability of file transfer services and infrastructure Responds to after-hours emergencies and leads the mitigation and resolution processes surrounding automated file transfers Ensure optimal resilience of deployed systems and meet all disaster recovery and compliance requirements Adhere to company standards, change control process and procedures Key ring and key chain administration on Windows and AIX Customer relationship: Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer through open and interactive communication. Maintain highest level of confidentiality as files could contain sensitive data. Display a strong dedication to provide high quality customer service. Be willing to adjust priorities to address issues that arise daily. Ensure that customer needs are taken into account in line with the company strategy. Resolve service problems. Advise of best solution, expedite correction and follow up to ensure resolution. Follow communication procedures, change management guidelines and policies. Display strong dedication to the team and be willing to help others.
Technical Documentation:
Responsible for creating technical documents and manuals in a clear and concise manner working with teams to ensure accuracy of detailed descriptions for all aspects of file transfer processes. Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals supporting file transfers, job schedules and security. Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals. Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content. Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
