Role Purpose:
Wasabi Technologies Inc. is seekingfor a Principal Engineer – Storage to join our Software Developmentteam. In this role, you will use your knowledge of storage devices,the Linux kernel/OS, filesystem and software development to help ateam dedicated to a highly reliable, secure, scalable andinnovative technology for Wasabis hot cloud storage service. TheWasabi hot cloud storage service is an enterprise-grade publiccloud object storage service that consists of Wasabi-built andWasabi-optimized software that operates on leading-edge compute andstorage hardware. To be successful in this role, you should haveexpertise in agile software development, be able to collaboratewith team members, and be a strategic problem-solver. In thisposition, you should demonstrate excellent communication skills, anability to connect with other engineers and developers, and have asolid foundation in software design.
Responsibilities:
o Design,develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve storage software. oContribute and drive idea generation for new storage capabilitiesand bring them to fruition. o Write clean, efficient, andmaintainable code in addition to tests and documentation. oTroubleshoot hardware and software, monitor, maintenance andoperation of a production environment. o Contribute to theimprovement of the storage team’s software and agile process.
Requirements :
o 15 years of storage platforms experience. o Deepunderstanding of HDD, SSD, disk enclosure and host adapter hardwareincluding SAS, NVME and fabric connectivity. o Expert in filesystems such as ZFS and WAFL, along with hands-on experienceworking with Linux operating systems. o Experience developing anddeploying backend storage services in Go or C++. o Understanding ofmodern API best practices (HTTP, REST, Swagger, gRPC). oFamiliarity with modern virtualization and containerizationtechnologies (virtual machines, Docker, Kubernetes, etc) and publiccloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc).
