Full Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, performs diversified duties required to install, move, and maintain all infrastructure equipment to support computer systems across the Corporation’s properties. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the casino’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
Completes work requests as directed by the Technical Services Manager regarding installation of systems, voice/data network connections and coordinating work with users. Receives and responds to incoming calls and/or requests regarding problems with systems and voice/data network connections. Creates and updates all documentation relating to systems, network equipment, and user locations. Performs routine preventative maintenance for all server and network infrastructure equipment and works with Technical Services Manager and peers to resolve issues. Works with IT Security department to administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the infrastructure. Maintains a working knowledge and practical application of information security principles and practices as they relate to their job responsibilities. Proactively assess potential risks and vulnerabilities within the environment. Maintains a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Acceptable Use Policy. Understands and complies with all information security policies and procedures at all times. Provides exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and team members. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies. Must complete all required SHC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment. Attends all necessary meetings. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment. Equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college coursework in computer science, management information systems or a closely related field or equivalent work experience. One to three years of work experience with Desktop Operating Systems, Server Operating Systems, Enterprise Networking Solutions, Infrastructure and Data Security, and Virtualization. Preference given to individuals with Microsoft
MCSA/MCSE
certification, VMware VCP certification and/or Cisco
CCNA/CCNP.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 20xx Server operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite 20xx. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Cisco enterprise networking equipment. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Linux Server Operating Systems. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with VMware Virtualization Software. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with Symantec Backup Exec 20xx Experience in telecommunications or convergence environments preferred. Experience with wiring schemas including fiber optic preferred. Previous customer service experience preferred. Previous experience providing IT support in a 24-hour operational environment preferred. Previous experience working in a casino is preferred but not a requirement. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must have the ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, customers, and vendors. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers, vendors, and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Must be resourceful, utilizing all resources that are available to resolve issues. Must be able to work with little direction and supervision. Must demonstrate good judgment. Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays. Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary licensing.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino. Ability to lift a minimum of sixty (60) pounds. Must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
