CONTROLS AUTOMATION ENGINEER

OBJECTIVE
We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join ourteam and drive the development and implementation of advancedcontrol systems for industrial clients. This role focuses ondelivering comprehensive automation solutions from concept throughcommissioning, while fostering technical excellence and mentoringemerging talent within our engineering organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, configure, and deploy industrial controlsystems including PLCs, DCS, HMI, SCADA, and related automationtechnologies across diverse platforms Oversee complete projectlifecycle from initial specifications through system startup andclient handover Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams includingelectrical design, instrumentation, and IT departments to ensureintegrated solution delivery Conduct field commissioningactivities, system testing, and troubleshooting at clientfacilities Serve as primary automation technical contact forclients spanning industries such as food & beverage, chemicalprocessing, power generation, and manufacturing Participate inproposal development, cost estimation, and technical presentationsfor prospective projects Manage client expectations and provideregular project updates throughout implementation phases Conductsite assessments and technical consultations to identify automationopportunities Mentor junior and mid-level engineers in programmingmethodologies, system design principles, and client interactionbest practices Lead technical training sessions and knowledgetransfer activities Review and approve technical deliverablesproduced by team members Contribute to continuous improvementinitiatives and engineering standards development Preparecomprehensive technical documentation, including systemspecifications, user manuals, and project reports Ensure all workadheres to established health, safety, and environmental policiesMaintain accurate project records and support quality assuranceprocesses
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering(Electrical, Controls, Chemical, or related discipline) orequivalent experience Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience withindustrial automation systems and control technologies Proficiencyin multiple PLC/DCS platforms and programming languagesDemonstrated ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics,and control system documentation Experience with onlineprogramming, system uploads/downloads, and live processmodifications Proven track record managing automation projectswithin scope, schedule, and budget constraints Strong analyticaland problem-solving capabilities with attention to detailExperience identifying and communicating scope changes to projectstakeholders Ability to work independently and make criticaldecisions under pressure Excellent written and verbal communicationskills for technical documentation and client presentationsDemonstrated leadership experience in technical environments Strongcustomer service orientation and professional demeanor Willingnessto travel up to 20% for site visits, commissioning activities, andclient meetings Field experience with startup, commissioning, andtroubleshooting activities Background working with OEMs, end users,and EPC contractors Flexibility to work overtime during criticalproject phases (compensated at standard hourly rates)
