IT Systems Administrator
Job Description ECS is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to work in our Redstone Arsenal, AL office.
Please Note:
This position is contingent upon contract award. ECS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Administrator to support the FBI’s Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC). The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of ESOC’s IT systems, ensuring the security and integrity of the FBI’s network and data. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of IT systems, network security, and compliance with FBI regulations.
Responsibilities:
System Maintenance:
Installing, configuring, and updating hardware and software to ensure systems function correctly.
User Management:
Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
Security:
Implementing and maintaining security policies, firewalls, and other security measures.
Backup and Recovery:
Ensuring regular backups and having a plan for restoring data in case of system failures.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving issues.
Compliance:
Ensuring systems comply with relevant security policies and industry standards.
Collaboration:
Working with other IT professionals and users to maintain system integrity and security.
Documentation:
Maintaining accurate documentation of systems and procedures. Administer and maintain ESOC’s IT systems, including servers, workstations, network devices, and security systems
Ensure the security and integrity of the FBI’s network and data by implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures
Collaborate with ESOC staff to identify and resolve IT issues and problems
Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity
Implement and maintain network segmentation and access controls to ensure sensitive data is protected
Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for ESOC’s IT systems This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-security environment, directly supporting national defense and law enforcement initiatives. Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI with CI Polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a security-focused environment
Strong understanding of IT systems, network security, and compliance with FBI regulations
Experience with Windows Server, Linux, and network devices (e.g. firewalls, routers)
Knowledge of security frameworks and regulations (e.g.
NIST, FISMA
)
Experience with incident response and disaster recovery planning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Desired Skills
CISSP, CEH, or other security certifications
Experience with FBI’s Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC) systems and processes
Knowledge of cloud-based security solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure)
Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL)
Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
