Inserso is seeking a Network and Computer Systems Administrator to provide support to our US Coast Guard customer at the Aviation Training Center (ATC) located in Mobile, AL. Specifically, this position will focus on system administration and operations and maintenance support for UNIX/Red Hat Linux/Windows servers and workstations located the ATC Mobile.
Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support services to maintain ATC Mobile Unix/Red Hat Linux/Windows workstations and servers including hardware and software.
Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of UNIX/Linux/Windows hardware/software and peripherals.
Support nonstandard computers that support training and operate in a UNIX/Linux/Windows operating system environment.
Manage UNIX/Linux/Windows systems resources to include performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
Maintain data backup media onsite and perform proper destruction of media in accordance with Coast Guard policy.
Periodically test backup media to ensure backup system is working.
Log all major configuration changes for each system and maintain records of all updates in appropriate system logs.
Prepare a plan for any changes to be made to any system and provide documentation for government approval.
Test all new hardware for compatibility with existing hardware and software.
Maintain and document disaster recovery procedures.
Review all system, security, and application logs for all servers and resolve erroneous conditions.
Comply with all applicable
DHS / USCG
notifications and alerts for appropriate action on servers.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
AA degree preferred.
Proficiency with Oracle Solaris 10 Unix and Red Hat Linux. Familiarity with supporting Windows desktop OS – i.e. Windows 7, 10, 11.
Familiarity with supporting Windows server OS.
Proficient in all Microsoft programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
Superior written and verbal communication skills. Experience in a rapid-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Good technical writing, presentation, and documentation skills. Must have excellent team skills and collaboration skills .
Attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to perform requirements gathering and interpretation of client needs.
Eligibility or possessing DoD Secret Clearance.
