IEM is currently seeking a Quality Management Systems Specialist for our Jacksonville, FL location. This role will report onsite to our VP of Quality & Reliability and will require travel up to 30%.
Responsibilities:
Review all relevant contract documentation for quality requirements and prepare quality plans as required. Oversee the control of documents and records. Initiate, investigate and participate in corrective and preventative action plans to address product, process, and system non-conformances. Facilitate corrective and preventive compliance actions to quality related issues. Ensure that detailed analysis of failures, root cause and corrective actions to manufacturing process, purchased components, assembly processes and/or product design are being done as required. Participate as a member of MRB. Facilitate Kaizen events to identify and implement process improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects. Train and mentor employees on Kaizen methodologies and tools. Analyze current processes and develop strategies for improvement. Monitor and report on the progress and outcomes of Kaizen initiatives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization. Utilize data and metrics to measure the impact of improvements. Conduct (Layered Process Audit) to ensure compliance with established processes and standards. Collaborate with the process owner to address LPA findings and implement corrective actions. Train and mentor employees on LPA processes and best practices. Monitor and report on the progress and effectiveness of LPA activities. Conduct 8D root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility design and create process documentation. Auditing FAI’s/FWTs (to current ISO 9001 or defined customer standards). Responsible for developing effective quality processes and inspection plans in alignment with manufacturing process and drive continuous improvement in IEM’s product and processes. Additionally, provide technical guidance to the Quality Inspection team. Strive for continuous improvement in all aspects of the work environment, this includes active participation in IEM’s Corrective Action, project teams and relevant job training. A desire to participate in identification of Health and Safety concerns for all members of the IEM Team.
Qualifications:
Experience with the development, manufacturing and testing equipment, fixtures, and processes for electrical equipment, wiring and/or related equipment. Experience in establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with Quality Assurance Representatives and customer source inspectors. Experience in establishing, communicating, and maintaining a positive relationship with other departments and team members. Experience with First Article Testing/FWT and reporting. Degree/Diploma in Business – Operations Management or related Technical Education. Five (5) or more years related experience in quality and process. Five (5) or more years’ experience serving in a leadership role under an ISO 9001 or AS9100 registered organization. Able to think creatively, logically, and independently to solve problems encountered in manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, regulatory compliance, and the quality field. Able to identify opportunities for improvement throughout the organization’s processes and be able to investigate and delegate without formal authority. Experience managing quality & process operations for a plant, division, or company with both design and production organizations. Ability to conduct internal audits and drive Corrective Actions required when non-conformance is identified. Lead 3rd party Auditing as required for the organization in conjunction with plant staff. Six Sigma Certification, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, CQE Certification would be an asset.
