Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are a generator services company seeking a skilled Generator Technician with strong experience in troubleshooting automatic transfer switches (ATS) and performing load bank testing. This is a field-based role servicing commercial and residential clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair automatic transfer switches (ASCO, Thomson, Russelectric, etc.) Perform load bank testing and document performance reports Diagnose generator failures, electrical issues, and control board faults Conduct routine preventive maintenance on diesel and gas generators (10kW – 2000kW) Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Communicate findings and repair recommendations to the office and clients Ensure compliance with safety standards and customer site protocols
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience servicing standby generators and ATS equipment Familiar with load bank equipment and voltage/frequency testing Ability to read wiring schematics and use diagnostic tools Valid driver’s license with clean driving record Strong communication and problem-solving skills Preferred but
Not Required:
EGSA certification or manufacturer training (Cummins, Kohler, Generac) Experience with paralleling switchgear or PLC controls
