Job Description

Job Summary:

Supports internal and external networks. Maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates, and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Provides technical support and guidance to local and remote users. Performs system backups and recovery. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Information Technology field.

Job Responsibilities:
Remote Support:

Respond to incoming support requests via phone, email, or chat and provide prompt and efficient technical assistance to end users. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues remotely, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations. Guide users through troubleshooting steps and provide clear instructions for problem resolution. Escalate complex or unresolved issues to appropriate IT teams while maintaining clear communication with the end user.

Onsite Support:

Travel to various company campuses to provide in-person technical support to end users. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, peripherals, and network devices. Assist with setting up workstations and ensuring proper connectivity and functionality. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues that require onsite intervention. Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a detailed and organized manner. Update and maintain the IT knowledge base, including FAQs, user guides, and technical documentation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and procedures.

User Training and Education:

Provide user training sessions on IT-related topics, including software applications, security best practices, and general technology usage. Educate end users on self-help tools and resources available to resolve common technical issues independently.

Hardware and Software Inventory Management:

Assist with inventory management, including tracking and maintaining accurate records of IT assets.

COMMUNICATIONS / INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

The ability to be a good listener, and to really understand a customer’s problem or question and help them solve it. Excellent writing skills. Most of your work will be written (email, documentation, etc.). Excellent telephone mannerisms. Some support will be provided over the phone (via our VoIP system)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. Will need to be able to commute from campus to campus. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Qualifications Education and Training:

(or equivalent) Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Minimum Experience:

2 years IT Proven experience in a technical support role, preferably in a helpdesk or service desk environment. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems. Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Willingness to travel to different campuses and provide onsite support as required. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
