Job Description

The Systems Administrator is responsible for assisting in the installation, management, configuration, and support of the Naval Warfare Center Training Systems Division development IT infrastructure, which includes servers, developer stations, and stand-alone trainer networks. Monitors systems to ensure they are securely configured and performs patching and remediation activities to keep systems compliant with Navy IT standards. The Systems Administrator will also document system configurations and procedures, collaborate with senior administrators to enhance their skills, and contribute to the configuration and integration of various training software products, virtual reality products, media, and research support products. This position assists with test and evaluation, technical documentation, life cycle support, software integration, and Navy workstation virtualization. This role is based in the Orlando, FL area and requires full-time, on-site presence. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Secret Clearance is required and must be maintained for employment. CompTIA Security+ or better certification while maintaining Continuing Education certification status. Must meet Navy System Administrator qualifications to attain privileged account on Navy computer systems.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Utilizes tools such as ACAS (Tenable) to run comprehensive scans on systems and devices. Regularly analyzes the results to identify vulnerabilities and assists in implementing corrective actions. Assists in the development and implementation of remediation plans in collaboration with various teams and stakeholders to address identified security weaknesses. Reviews current Active Directory Group Policies to ensure they align with organizational security policies and compliance requirements. Provides documentation to Navy ISSO for recurring battle cadence data calls, such as network topology and scan results. Scans workstations to create STIG checklist results and assists in creating POAM documentation for compliance findings. Performs patching and vulnerability mitigation in response to updated IAVA or Emergency Directive notifications. Assists in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems and software. Assists in the implementation of security measures to protect systems and data. Documents system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Collaborates with senior administrators to learn and develop new skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, and a minimum of one to two (1-2) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
