About this role Responsible for providing client and operational support for the College’s audio visual (AV) infrastructure. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to design and deploy AV technologies and systems. Performs system integration, tests, and pilots viable technologies for new construction and retrofits. Reviews requirements and designs for AV systems and troubleshoots existing systems to ensure system functionality. What a day of an Administrator, Audio Visual Systems looks like: Installs and configures control systems. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to determine project requirements, verify specifications, and assist with the creation of graphic touch panel interface layouts for integrated AV systems. Operates and integrates specialized media, multimedia, computer hardware, and network systems. Performs system testing, validation, and preparations for AV installation. Assists in the design of connection systems for multimedia facilities. Prepares drawings, diagrams, layouts, power requirements, air flow, and temperature requirements. Installs and specifies cabling systems, wires, and media equipment. Configures multimedia equipment for correct operation. Performs technical set-up for video, audio, and multi-image presentations and provides technical support for issues that arise during set-up. Collaborates with the IT Service Desk, support technicians, and end users to document and resolve AV troubleshooting tickets, bug reports, and errors. Troubleshoots issues and outages and provides customer support to end users utilizing a variety of communication methods. Analyzes technical problems with multimedia systems and equipment and performs repairs. Responds to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions, such as clarification of College or campus policy and procedures. Maintains and performs in a safe workplace and follows established safety practices. Functions in an on-call capacity in response to hardware, software and systems repair needed during normal business hours or instances where the college is closed. Associate’s degree Two years of related experience

Knowledge of:

Microsoft Office Professional or similar application Networking concepts Programming audio visual systems using C, Crestron, or similar software Skilled in: Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management Delivering a high level of customer service Creative thinking and problem solving to explore new technology, processes, and approaches Installation of audio visual and multimedia systems Ability to: Interpret signal flow diagrams, load program code, and troubleshoot system components Troubleshoot complex audio, video, switching and control systems issues Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service Self-manage tasks and mini-projects or improvement efforts Research information for problem solving
